On April 19, 2018, we organized a unique Managers' Breakfast event, this time under the theme "Lubusz Labor Market – Forecasts for Entrepreneurs. Optimistic?". The unique nature of the meeting was emphasized by its location – the event took place on the stage of the Juliusz Osterwa Theatre in Gorzów Wielkopolski.
As with other meetings, the main focus of the program was a detailed analysis of the Lubusz labor market. Data presented from March 2018 indicated record-low unemployment across the region: in Poland, the unemployment rate was 6.6%, in the Lubusz Voivodeship 6.9%, and in Zielona Góra just 3.6%.
This low unemployment rate directly translated into a high turnover rate, which reached 21.13% in 2017. Financial factors dominated the key reasons for employee departures: receiving a higher salary offer (89.3% of responses) and moving abroad for work (73.2% of responses). These data provided a backdrop for discussions on how businesses should strive to retain staff.
This event was a valuable platform for exchanging knowledge and experiences for Lubusz managers. We provided them with strategic insights into the scale of wage pressure in the region and effective management strategies in an environment where demand for employees exceeds supply. The unique atmosphere of the Juliusz Osterwa Theatre fostered open discussions about human resources management scenarios in such a dynamic economic environment.
